The future appears to be on our doorstep! Sony has filed a patent for a camera that is embedded in a contact lens CNBC reported this month.
Undoubtedly, many are anxious to know how this works? Most speculate that the camera will work by blinking and be proficient enough to know the difference between voluntary blink and involuntary blinks. Apparently it may have the ability to zoom and change aperture.
All of this is pretty astonishing and truly a marvel! However, rather than questioning the technical specs (zoom, aperture, etc) I think it better we question how this will affect our privacy rights. In the past, you had a chance to notice someone raising a camera or phone to their eye to take a picture of you, in most cases, but you would have no idea who would be marking your movements.
